Celebrity Stories about Bathing

Research carried out by Kantar Worldpanel suggests that 90% of Americans shower daily compared to 83%, 85%, and 92% in the UK, China, and Germany, respectively. Brazil tops the chart with a whopping 99% and an average of 14 showers daily.

Many argue that reducing the length and frequency of showers will benefit the environment and help prevent drought. For instance, the average shower is 13 minutes in North America which implies about 1.7 trillion gallons of clean water is used annually. This same quantity can serve the city of New York for five years.

Celebrity stories about bathing have caused some interesting debates about showers. However, is less bathing safe? According to James Hamblin, a physician, health reporter, and author of Clean: The New Science of Skin, ‘our cleaning rituals are less necessary and more culturally ingrained.’

In 2019, there was an online discussion over whether or not it was necessary to wash one’s legs before taking a shower. Well, since celebrities started talking about how little they bother washing, well, anything, the topic has become interesting.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

This celebrity couple were the ones to start it all off when they admitted on a podcast that they only bathe their four- and six-year-old kids when they “saw the dirt on them.” Other stars began discussing their bathing habits—or lack thereof—in response to their remarks.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

Shepard claimed in the same podcast that he and his wife used to bathe their daughters frequently but stopped as the children grew older. Later, the pair reiterated their statement on The View, admitting that they frequently fail to give their kids baths.

Kristen Bell declares, “I’m a big lover of waiting for the odor.” “Once you smell it, biology tells you to clean it up,” says the author. In a subsequent interview, they defended their remarks, claiming that the California drought contributes to their infrequent showering. Kris also said limited water propelled her to take showers with her children.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt’s Inglourious Basterds co-star Eli Roth revealed some unusual bathing advice to People in 2009.

‘He shared that you just take a baby wipe and rub it under your armpits when you’re sweating and don’t have time to shower,’ adds Roth.

Pitt reportedly told Roth, “I got six babies,” Pitt continues, “Man, I’ve been getting [peed] on all day. I’m too busy to take a shower. Just a few fast wipes under the pits are all that is necessary.

Coco Austin

Coco Austin, the wife of rapper Ice T, revealed in a recent Daily Pop interview that she doesn’t take a shower every day. ‘I’ll take a shower when I’m feeling yucky,” she replied. “Whether that occurs, every day may or may not occur, but it may occur every three days.’’

“I kind of keep myself clean, though,” she continued, adding that if her armpits smell, she will only wash that area and not her entire body. Every four days, she does make care to wash her hair.

Charlize Theron

The Mad Max: Fury Road actor said she’d be “fine” going without a shower for a week in a 2008 David Letterman interview. She admitted that I’m incredibly spoilt, and I don’t take for granted how fortunate I am to travel in first class and stay in opulent hotels.

Therefore, I enjoy getting my hands filthy by camping or visiting places without modern conveniences when I do have some free time. She also mentioned that “there’s a time and a place for everything—and sometimes there’s a time for not showering.”

Jake Gyllenhaal

During a recent Vanity Fair interview, Jake Gyllenhaal talked about several water-related topics, including fast boats, a campaign for Prada’s Luna Rossa Ocean and his bathing routine.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home actor responded, “More and more I find bathing less important,” when asked about his showering habits. ‘But I also believe that a whole world of not bathing is also very beneficial for maintaining skin health, and we naturally clean ourselves,’ he continued.

McConaughey Matthew

Yvette Nicole Brown, who collaborated with the actor on Tropic Thunder in 2008, assured fans that the actor still smells fresh despite his claim that he doesn’t use deodorant. “I recall that Matthew McConaughey claimed not to use deodorant and not to smell.

I immediately thought, “I’m going to get as near to him as possible to check whether he’s right,” “On a SiriusXM broadcast of The Jess Cagle Show from August 2021, she remembered. “He doesn’t smell at all. He has a granola-and-good-living odor. He smells so sweet. It’s not musty or insane; that’s him.”

Dwayne Johnson

“No, I’m the exact opposite of a celebrity who “doesn’t wash.” I take a quick (cold) shower to start the day when I get out of bed. After my workout, I take a warm shower before work. When I return from work, I’ll take a hot shower. I exfoliate, wash my face, and sing (off-key) in the shower. “In August 2021, the Jungle Cruise actor posted on Twitter.

Several celebrities like June Diane Raphael and Jason Mamoa claim they take regular showers.

Are Frequent Showers Necessary

It is just a matter of personal preference. People who regularly take showers are just as content as others who follow a different pattern. There isn’t any concrete data to support the claim that one group is healthier than the other.

However, it is true that these bathing customs squander water, remove the natural oils from our bodies, and are supported by a nearly $48 billion global industry. It’s in the best interests of big business to have you believe that taking a shower every day is a requirement.

Taking fewer showers or shortening the length of showers can go a long way toward helping to save a valuable resource, especially in the West, where persistent drought conditions have set new records. Additionally, there are synthetic chemicals and microbeads from shampoos and other skincare items that we flush down the toilet.

Whether taken regularly or infrequently, showers are an essential part of our lives and help us fulfill various tasks of the day in good spirits. It’s also a relaxing way to end the day. You can buy all your quality shower needs from Leelongs. To get started, fill out the contact form.
